Information Technology - Network Management Pathway (A25590NE)

Associate in Applied Science Degree

The Information Technology (IT) curriculum prepares graduates for employment in the technology sector and with organizations that use information technology systems to process information and automate business processes.

Course work is designed to develop a student’s ability to create, store, communicate, exchange, and use information to solve technical issues related to information security, interactive media, network systems, software development, and information technology support and services.

Graduates should qualify for employment in entry-level positions with businesses, educational systems, and governmental agencies that rely on computer systems to design and manage information. The program will incorporate the competencies of industry-recognized certification exams.

This curriculum complies with the standard approved by the State Board of Community Colleges.

Students may be required to take developmental courses in Math and/or English as a result of high school GPA or pre-enrollment placement tests.  Therefore, the student may need more than the minimum number of semester hours listed for graduation. Consult a program advisor for more information.

Graduates of the Information Technology Program will have the ability to:

1. Resolve technical problems using information technologies and information systems.

2. Create technology system solutions based on industry standards and customer requirements.

3. Communicate with clarity and precision using appropriate information technology terminology and concepts

4. Develop personal and professional skills to anticipate and meet workforce expectations

5. Manage computer hardware and software in support of a variety of professional environments.
